The family connection lives on YOUR device — not your child's. You create a family, connect your child's practice device once, and then follow along: which days they practised, how the last pieces sounded, and where it's sticking right now. It's free, and you can disconnect at any time.
Opening the family connection
On your own device, open Settings and tap "Family connection" — or use the card of the same name on /profil. It appears only for grown-up profiles; on a child profile it stays hidden, because there's nothing there to set up. Just installed? Then the "Parents" card in the welcome conversation brings you straight here.
Creating a family
Enter a name for the family (suggested: "Family") and tap "Create family". This is free — there's no licence and no payment step. Klavissimo creates the family and immediately generates an invitation with a link and a QR code.
Connecting your child's practice device
Open the shown link on your child's practice device — or let your child scan the QR code. If the link isn't to hand, your child types the code instead on their own device at /profil. To pin up or hand over, there's "Print as a slip".
Your child agrees once
On your child's device, a page specially marked "FOR THE FAMILY" appears. It shows exactly what will reach you from then on: "Your family device sees: practice days, ♩ ratings, tricky spots — never your pieces, never recordings." Only tapping "Allow connection" connects — "Play without connecting" leaves everything as it was. Either way, your child practises exactly the same exercises. A class and a family don't rule each other out — your child's practice device can be connected to their class and to your family at the same time.

The family practice book
Once connected, you see one calm line per child: this week's practice days as ♩, when they last practised, how the last pieces sounded (as ♩, not as bare percentages) and "working on bar … right now". That's all — you follow along, you don't step in: setting exercises or homework isn't something you do here, by design.
Disconnecting — any time
"End family connection" disconnects all connected children at once and deletes the shared practice data on the server. Your child keeps practising as before — you just won't see it here anymore. Disconnecting needs a server connection at that moment; you can create a new link again whenever you like.
Good to know:
In this version, one family device follows along. If you set the connection up on a second device, a second, separate family with its own invitation is created — several parent devices in one shared family are a possible future step, but not here yet.
For parents
Your child's agreement isn't a formality tick-box, it's a technical gate: without tapping "Allow connection", the device sends nothing. That way, following along deliberately begins with your child's yes.
