Device & app ready
First, your child's practice device needs a connected piano or keyboard — Klavissimo then hears every key, live. No instrument handy? The on-screen keyboard works fine for trying it out.
A profile for your child
Your child sets up their own profile on their own device via the assistant — a short chat, no account needed. If you set Klavissimo up on your own device instead, the "Parents" card in the welcome conversation already takes you straight to the family connection.
Your child's consent — the actual gate
Before anything is sent to you, Klavissimo shows your child a page specially marked "FOR THE FAMILY" — with exactly the sentence that will reach you from then on. Only tapping "Allow connection" connects; without that tap, everything stays as it was.
Setting up a "view only" family connection
On your own device, you create a family under "Family connection" and connect your child's practice device to it. From then on you only follow along — you deliberately don't set homework or practice spots here.
Optional email: weekly review & parent update
If you voluntarily link an email address, you can additionally subscribe to a parent update — independent of your child's own weekly review, switched on or off separately, with an unsubscribe link in every email.
A family iPad via device sync
If your family uses several devices of your own — a shared iPad, say — device sync (Plus) automatically keeps the same practice state up to date across your paired devices.
Backup & switching devices
Without an account, everything only lives on the respective device — if you move house or your child gets a new tablet, the full backup brings the complete state along, including their own pieces and sounds.
For parents
What reaches you stays narrow: "Your family device sees: practice days, ♩ ratings, tricky spots — never your pieces, never recordings." Your child practises exactly the same exercises either way — whether you follow along or not.
