Adjust the piano’s reverb and volume — for violin, cello and clarinet, you can also choose a different sound source.
Adjust the piano sound
Klavissimo uses the Salamander grand — adjust reverb and volume in the Piano section. These controls apply to all piano parts played by the app, including play-through and four-hand pieces. They do not change your connected instrument’s own sound.
Open "Sound" in the player ⚙
Open "Sound" in the player ⚙ — "Sound per voice" contains the piano and the ensemble voices violin, cello and clarinet. The piano section is also available for solo pieces.
Switch the sound per voice
Violin, cello and clarinet each have a dropdown with several built-in sound sources — exactly which ones depends on the voice. "Own file…" sits at the bottom of the list, for a SoundFont of your own. The piano keeps its built-in sound.
Volume and reverb per voice
Under "Reverb", the slider runs from "dry" through "subtle" and "small hall" to "concert hall"; under "Volume", from 0 to 100 %. The piano defaults to 50 % reverb and 100 % volume. Its reverb goes one step further, up to "cathedral"; above 100 % it blends smoothly into a longer reverb tail. At 0 % volume its app sound is muted; the other instruments stay unchanged. The reverb labels describe the amount of reverb, not different room recordings.
A short reload on the first note
When you switch the sound or restart a piece, the very first note of a voice can briefly sound simpler while the actual SoundFont loads in the background.
Good to know:
"Sound never affects scoring" — that's stated in the panel itself. Klavissimo still only listens to which note you play and when, regardless of how your accompanying voices sound.
