Creating a class — with its own PIN

The area asks for a class name, your title, and a PIN (4–6 digits, entered twice to confirm). Klavissimo never stores the PIN in plain text, only as a hash — a device with several classes gets its own PIN per class.

Assigning profiles

"Assign profiles" decides which device profiles belong to your class — handy for a classroom iPad in the music room, where every child has their own profile on the same device. The overview automatically sorts by "needs you first": long since practised, stuck on the same spot, close to the next level.

Setting homework — adapted per child

"＋ New homework" picks an exercise or piece, the children, a due date (quick pick "+7 days") — Klavissimo automatically adapts tempo and hand to each child's level. "Played" simply means played, never graded: "Gold = played · no note-perfect pressure: played counts, not the score." This works for profiles on this device AND for connected children practising elsewhere — the same form, up to five open homework items per child; a remote child receives them with their next sync (up to an hour's delay).

Bringing your class online — for children on other devices

If a child is NOT on the same device, "Bring class online" helps: an invite link/code (valid 14 days, "For the board · ↓ PDF" as a printout) for joining from home. A child connected this way receives homework the same way as on this device — in addition, the remote-connections overview offers a single "set a practice spot" as a quick pointer without a due date. Both reach the child on their next sync (up to an hour's delay), and both ways can be mixed.

Recital notes and the class overview

In a child's detail view, "Write a recital note" opens the assessment of a piece played live for you; the latest sessions, axis levels and weekly ♩ row are read straight from the child's device (for remote connections: from the daily sync summary).

What you see — and what you never do

You see bundled practice data: sessions, scores, sticking points, practice days. A child's imported pieces stay structurally invisible to you — the app never reads them. For a remote connection, Klavissimo only resolves built-in exercises/pieces to a real title; a remote child's own imported piece always shows only "own piece", never the real name.

Substitute access — a code with a time limit

"Substitute" generates an access code with an expiry date that never reveals your PIN. A substitute may view the class and put practice spots into plans — CSV export, inviting, new profiles, archiving, homework and recital notes stay locked (visible in the interface but disabled, with "only for …").

CSV export for parent conversations

An export bundles name, level, practice days/week and optionally the axis levels as a semicolon-separated file — word for word with the note: "The file contains children's names — treat it like a class set of report cards and delete it after use."
