Two related but separate things: a recital note assesses ONE piece played live, the year in review narrates the whole school year — without device sync set up, both live only on this device at first.
Writing a recital note
"Write a recital note" in a child's detail view asks WHAT (a piece from the current homework, or "Something else …"), HOW DID IT GO (three ♩ levels: "still practising" · "almost sure" · "sits — mastered") and optionally A NOTE (shown to the child word for word). Footer: "Lands in …'s practice diary and in your class overview."
Counts just as much as measured
The top level "sits — mastered" works like a digital score above 80: it counts towards the child's levels and can unlock the next level of the repertoire ladder — word for word: "♩♩♩ works like a score above 80: counts towards …'s levels and can unlock the next one."
In the child's practice diary
A recital note appears in the diary/practice diary as its own line, "Played for teacher · with …", with the note "Played for a teacher counts just as much as measured — your ladder makes no difference." An optional sentence from the teacher sits alongside it, unchanged.
Your piano year — the year in review
At /jahr, Klavissimo narrates the school year in four parts: the first practice day ("Remember? … was your beginning."), the year as a staff of notes, the most-played piece, and the bravest week. Under 5 practice days, the page says honestly: "Your year is still young — keep practising, and there'll be something to celebrate here."
The certificate you can print
"↓ Print as certificate" opens a print-only layout: practice days, level reached, favourite piece, "for the first time with both hands" and "played for a teacher once — brave!" only appear when they're actually true — no invented facts. The signature line carries the teacher's name if the profile belongs to a class, otherwise simply "Your teacher".
Your data:
Without device sync set up, both stay local: recital notes only land in this device's practice diary, and the year in review reads only this same device's own history, recital notes and acoustic sessions. With device sync (Plus) set up, both travel end-to-end encrypted to your own devices — the server can never read the contents.
