The placement test is a handful of short tasks — about 8 minutes — during which Klavissimo adapts to your playing. It checks four axes: note reading, rhythm, technique and sight-reading. Mistakes are part of it, and never a big deal.
Play task after task
You play short phrases on your piano or the on-screen keyboard — the count-in counts you in, and the next task adapts to your result: easier after mistakes, harder after a clean round.
Skipping is fine
"Skip task" counts as a missed attempt for that axis — no drama, the placement test simply continues.
Cancel any time
"Cancel — progress stays" lets you leave the placement test at any point without losing anything: your progress so far is kept.
Good to know:
The result is deliberately conservative — when in doubt, Klavissimo places you a level lower, never higher, than what you actually demonstrated. And the placement test is repeatable any time: from then on your most recent result counts, and your daily plan adapts right away.
Two ways in: the test, or choosing your level
The test stays the recommended main path — it gives the more accurate recommendation. Already know your level (coming back to the piano, a teacher, or demoing)? Below the test you'll find "Choose your level yourself": tap a level 1–6, confirm with "Use this level" — done, a full profile exists, and /heute shows a daily plan right away. Either way stays swappable: take the test later and its result replaces the level you chose yourself.
