Settings at a glance

Two places for settings, with a clear division of labour: the ⚙ in the player for the current practice moment, /einstellungen for everything else.

1

Player ⚙ — what you're practising right now

The gear button right in the player controls pure practice settings for the current session — preset "Play"/"Learn", hint levels, keyboard display, pedal strictness and more.

Score pedal strictly

The “Play” preset sets several controls at once — “Learn” turns the same controls stricter.

2

Dynamics: playback and scoring

The player ⚙ also has a "Dynamics" section with four playback controls: the "Score dynamics" switch plus the three sliders "Dynamic contrast", "Accent strength" and "Downbeat emphasis". Separate from that, right next to "Score pedal strictly", sits the "Rate dynamics & articulation" switch — it decides whether your own dynamics get scored in the result at all (preset: off in Play mode, on in Learn mode).

3

/einstellungen — the directory

The ⚙ icon in the header (on phone, under "More") leads to the /einstellungen directory — four groups: INSTRUMENT (connection & test, pedal), PRACTICE (hints & cursor, sound & voices, metronome & count-in), PROFILE & AI (tone & placement, AI tutor, data & privacy), and DISPLAY (appearance, language). Every row shows the current state and links to the real place.

4

Appearance

Three cards: "Songbook" (light), "Concert hall" (dark), and "Automatic" — automatic switches either by time of day (concert hall from 19:00 to 07:00, adjustable) or "With the system". In both modes, the sheet music, keyboard and score colours stay equally bright — what you've learned looks the same at night.

5

Language

Two cards, Deutsch and English — a real, manual switch, not just following the device's language. It switches immediately, no reload; piece titles always stay in their original language in both.

6

Keyboard shortcuts

The "?" key opens the "Keyboard shortcuts" overlay anywhere in the app — space bar for start/pause in the player, plus globally H for the home page, T for the daily plan, A for "Your tutor" and "?" itself for this overlay. Your piano itself never triggers a shortcut: MIDI and the computer keyboard stay strictly separate.

Good to know:

Appearance and language apply device-wide, shared across all profiles — unlike tone of voice and AI tutor, which are set individually per profile.
